I know a lot of my readers find me because of BlogCatalog or Entrecard (but shouts to people from DigitalPoint and AWF), and I know a lot of you have never been to Scotland or even know anything about us Scots. Well, here’s a short video commercial for Irn-Bru, Scotland’s other drink. Hope you like it.
The Evening News today are talking about more Scots in favour of independence than ever before after a year of successfully managing the country by the SNP and my hero Alex Salmond, whose title First Minister is frankly an insult, the man should be our Prime Minister.
I must say as a proud Scot I don’t wish any harm on the UK or its people, I just don’t want to be part of it anymore, the time is right for Scotland to rejoin the other independent countries of the world, I mean if Iceland with only 316,000 people can be successful so can we.
So I imagine I’m going to get a few nay-sayers commenting here, especially since so many people are visiting my humble little blog, but before you do, think about this. Scotland was independent before, we’ve contributed a lot to the world already, some of the best inventors and economists have been Scottish so I know we can make a success of being independent, and look, if we’re all part of the EU, we don’t even need to put up border posts between Scotland and England.
Nothing much will change, but we’ll finally be able to make choices about how our country is managed, and even though we speak English, our legal system is different from England and always has been, we have a different culture, different history, even a different language if you choose to speak Gaelic. I hope you can all join me in standing up for an independent Scotland.

Just when you think you’ve dealt with all this stuff you have to it all over again because you move from Blogger to Wordpress. Aye, its a pain in the backside but so far everything is going a bit smoother than I guess I had a right to hope for. Not liking the theme very much, it seemed like the best of a bad bunch but its a bit grey. Wish I could find a theme with a Scottish flag in it and the same three columns.

This is really funny, I just read about some new found technique at the cutting edge of modern agriculture thats supposed to deal with carbon capture in soil and help with world food production and eliminate hunger. Say what?
I didn’t understand it either but the way it works is like this right, 1500 years ago a bunch of tribesman from the Amazon region used to mix charcoal with their soil and now its the most fertile soil in the world, my old grandad would be proud, he always used to stick the ash from his fireplace in his veggie garden, swore it gave him better carrots and sprouts than any of his neighbors.
So these scientists are going to encourage farmers all over the world to start mixing coal into their soil to improve things and eliminate world hunger, and all I keep thinking is back in the 80’s we closed down most of our coal mines here in the UK, put a bunch of people out of work and all this time we could’ve used the coal to make a fortune on the world market. Funny as.
But it gives me hope that my dream of driving one of these stonking great Tonka trucks might still be a reality instead of just a childhood dream never to be realised.

Ok, she’s cute and all but she’s taken, but she married one of the most powerful men on the planet, how much more of a hint could you need, the women is taken. Yet someone went and paid near enough £46000 for Ms Bruni’s snapshot.
Call me stupid but that is way too much money for a black and white photo that is still just a print, you know that photographer could run off another dozen copies tomorrow if he wanted to. Maybe if the picture was autographed, or it was a painting, but not an f’ing print.
At least a charity gets all the proceeds but I still wonder at the sanity of the man who bought this, he must really like her music to justify that kind of money for a photo.
